Preparation Checklist

Clients are responsible for completing all required steps before their appointment to ensure successful fingerprint capture.


Review All Instructions

  • Read the full preparation checklist provided.
  • Confirm you understand what is required for your specific fingerprinting type (FDLE, AHCA, Level 2, etc.).

Skin & Hand Preparation

  • Ensure hands are clean and dry.
  • Avoid lotions, oils, or moisturizers on the day of your appointment.
  • If skin is excessively dry or cracked, moisturize the night before, not the day of.

Identification

  • Bring a valid, government‑issued photo ID.
  • Ensure the name on your ID matches the name used for booking.

Personal Readiness

  • Remove gloves, bandages, or anything covering fingertips.
  • Remove excessive dirt, ink, or residue from hands.
  • Trim long nails if they interfere with proper finger placement.


Appointment Details

  • Know your appointment time and location.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes early.
  • For mobile appointments, ensure the location is confirmed and accessible.

• Provide a safe, clean, well‑lit, and accessible area.

  • Ensure there is a stable surface for equipment setup.

• Keep pets secured and minimize foot traffic during the appointment.


Payment & Documentation

  • Ensure payment is completed (if required in advance).
  • Bring any agency forms, ORI numbers, or reference documents provided to you.

Health & Safety

  • Reschedule if you are sick or experiencing symptoms that may affect the appointment.
  • Notify SheScan immediately if you need to update your appointment details.
